As some of you may or may not know, a Year 12 school captain invited Former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins to be his date. At first she accepted, but unfortunately for him she later declined the invitation worried she’d be too big for the night. But she did end up having lunch with him at his school. One of the funniest things I have seen this year, besides from my current favourite movie, it defiantely has to be Ask a Ninja. Ask a Ninja is a popular video podcast where watchers send emails to a Ninja asking him questions about Ninjas, and a video podcast is created every week or so. Some of the things he says are hilarious. I’ll be watching and episode in bed on my iPod and I’ll just burst out into laughter! Some of the stuff he comes out with I can’t even comprehend how funny it is! Read the rest of this entry »
Howdy peoples!
Just thought I’d inform you on a great movie I watched the other night! Napoleon Dynamite! I had massive expectations for this movie, with all the hype from friends and whatnot, so unfortunately I was a little dissapointed by it, but still a fantastic flick! The more I watch it the more I like it! It’s a different kind of humour to what you might imagine. As in it’s not your typical ‘comedy’ film with your one liners and toilet humour like most movies, it’s different. I’m not sure what it is, but I really like this movie. Where he lives, where he goes to school and all that are all key factors to what makes this movie great! And how Napoleon Dynamite looks… well.. take a look!

And the other characters that back this guy up are fantastic! Pedro! Kip! Uncle Rico and Tina (the llama) all make this movie that little extra funny! Funnily enough the guy who played Napoleon Dynamite actually looks normal!

I just watched the movie with the commentary which includes jon heder (napoleon dynamite) and the writer. And what made this movie even better was listening to the writer talk about how almost every situation in this movie had happened to his brother! And it makes it funnier to know that these things actually happened!

Another thing that made me love this movie even more and even begin to be proud of it is the fact that Jeremy Coon (Producer/Editor) did all the editing for the film on a single mac computer, and for less than $6,000. The film was then taken to a film festival where Fox searchlight pictures picked it up for a cool 3.2 million. Not bad for a first timer!
Anyways, I think that you have to watch it more than once to truly enjoy it! It’s definately a different sort of comedy that relies on a true sense of humour. And I believe that if you didn’t think Napoleon’s line about girls wanting guys with skills was funny (at least the first time) I suspect no amount of explanation will bring that particular breed of humor to you.
