What does Christmas mean to you? Why do you celebrate Christmas? Perhaps for religious reasons? Maybe you just enjoy it? Or maybe it’s all you’ve ever known and it’s tradition… For me, it’s all of the above. Religious, enjoyment, and traditional reasons are why I celebrate this one day each year. But as I grow older I begin to wonder why almost all of the western world celebrates this holiday? The whole reason for this holiday originally was to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Now, how can people celebrate a Holiday like this and not believe that Jesus existed? It’s like celebrating Valentine’s Day while you don’t believe in Love. It’s like celebrating thanksgiving and not believing in Pilgrims. It has become a holiday that is primarily placed on the retail calendars, taking advantage of people’s liking of giving presents to each other by bumping up prices and raking in profits. But I believe this year, retail sales decreased dramatically in Melbourne (at least the shopping centres i visited during) and will continue to decrease as each year goes on. Perhaps people are realising the real reason and importance of Christmas and buying less presents. I also think it could be because there’s not really anything new on the shelves these days, it’s just the same old crap.

Well, another Christmas is over and as we head into the new year we think about our new year’s resolutions. What is your new year’s resolution? I’ve never really made any real resolutions nor gone through with any (serious or not). I would love to hear what your new year’s resolution might be if you’d like to leave it in the comments. I will have a think of what I might like to accomplish this year and I’ll let you know in my next post.

Currently I am sitting in bed. Yes that’s right, i’m in bed. For those that don’t know, I finally purchased my very own laptop! It’s a beautiful Apple Powerbook and I absolutely love it! It’s just great! I mean… i’m in bed! It doesn’t get much better than that! I plan to use it primarily for freelancing which I plan to start within the next month officially. I believe I have the ability to be quite successful, but I’m just worried about actually getting the work to do. But i’m hoping that once word gets out about how good I am, business should pick up.
On a similar note I also got my own 30GB Black iPod Video which I also love! Both of these products are super sexy and I can’t imagine myself looking back (to windows).

That’s pretty much all I’ve got to say at the moment I think. I will hopefully post at least once before I go to adelaide for my summer break (which I can’t wait to get to and am in desperate need for)! If I didn’t say it to you personally I’m sorry, but i’ll say it now anyway – Merry Christmas! I hope you had a great day whatever you were doing!

Due to the thread here I decided to deck my blog out for christmas. What do you think? You like? I didn’t put much effort in coz it’s just a silly muck around thing, but all illustrations are my own, except the font’s of the candy cane and the christmas lights. I got those from dafont.com. Do you like my little reindeers? Drew them myself on paper! Oh yeah!

Anyways, not much has been happening lately. Been a little unwell recently, don’t know why and don’t know what’s wrong. Went to the doctor, and it appears I’m just crazy. Wow, that’s comforting huh? So after going to the doctors 3 times all up, I’m still in pain and feeling unwell and still have nothing to show for it. Ah well, I guess that’s the way it goes. I have just been told to exercise more and get a better sleeping pattern. But it’s so hard when you’re so popular!

So I’m about to start up my own ‘business’ for design work and such. I say ‘business’ coz it’s gonna be pretty laid back just to see how it goes. I’m going to be purchasing a 15″ Powerbook from Apple, registering a business name, registering a domain name and all that other stuff. I’ve come up with a name, don’t know what you think of it… Yellow Fox Media… What do you think? I like the yellow fox part, but i’m not too sure about the word media. Although it describes what i do perfectly, it isn’t very creative. Then I thought about Yellow Fox creations, but that’s not very original. As soon as I decide on that word i’m a goer! If you can come up with anything cool let me know! Just drop me a line in the comments.
